ZenTrace works with compatible Zentron devices inside ZSYNC. It combines measured range, device direction and phone GPS to calculate a target point and save it on the map.

HOW IT WORKS

From measurement to map marker in five steps.

A clear workflow built around a compatible Zentron device, the ZSYNC app and your phone’s location services.

  1. Compatible device taking a target measurement

    Measure

    Use the device laser rangefinder to measure the target.

  2. Device connected through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

    Connect

    Pair the compatible device with ZSYNC over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

  3. Measurement information syncing to the phone

    Sync

    Transfer measured distance and device direction to the phone.

  4. Phone GPS and device data calculating a target point

    Calculate

    ZenTrace combines the device data with phone GPS.

  5. Saved target marker shown on the ZenTrace map

    Navigate

    Select the saved marker and follow the in-app map guidance.

BEFORE YOU START

Prepare ZSYNC and your device before heading out.

  • Install the latest ZSYNC app from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Connect the compatible device to the phone over Wi-Fi.
  • Enable Bluetooth and switch the device to ZenTrace mode.
  • Allow location, Bluetooth and required data permissions.
  • Confirm the phone and device have enough battery for field use.
